Trading Accountant

Primary Purpose of the Position

To deliver efficient, accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of Ampol Trading entities

Critical Accountabilities and Outcomes

Ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and meaningful accounting reports that are in compliance with Ampol accounting policies and relevant Singapore and Australian reporting requirements
Perform accounting monthend closing tasks and reconciliations, including balance sheet and gross margin reconciliation
Work closely with parent/subsidiary counterparts to ensure all intercompany transactions and balances are eliminated for group consolidation purpose
Support team lead with annual statutory audit and preparation of financial statements and government surveys.
Preparation of monthly and quarterly GST reporting, Withholding tax, and monthly corporate tax provision schedules and other tax compliance reporting as required for Ampol Trading entities
Identify, initiate, manage and/or support improvement of financial systems, processes and reporting to meet business requirements and support key projects
Analyse new or changed business processes and determine required accounting processes, procedures and controls and implement these
Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Ampol
Manage Ampol Trading transactions effectively, ensuring timely payments and receipts as required from time to time
Perform any other duties as required

Qualifications

Experience

Similar role in a commodity trading environment
Experience in using CTRM systems
Minimum 36 years in an accounting based role in a large organisation or Chartered Accounting firm
Experience in handling accounts related to oil trading and shipping
