    Roles & Responsibilities

    As a Senior/Staff Nurse at Ju Eng Home for Senior Citizens, you will play a pivotal role in providing compassionate and comprehensive care to our elderly residents. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. Your dedication, clinical expertise, and empathy will contribute to enhancing the quality of life for our elderly population.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for residents.
      Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
      Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in residents' conditions.
      Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
      Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
    2. Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
      Communicate effectively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team.
      Provide health education to residents and their families regarding disease management, medication, and lifestyle modifications.
    3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
      Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment.
      Identify and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
    4. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nursing assistants, therapists, social workers, and dietitians, to coordinate and optimize resident care.
      Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning and decision-making processes.
      Provide support and guidance to nursing assistants and other staff members as needed.
    5. Professional Development: Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in geriatric nursing.
      Participate in continuing education and training programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
      Maintain licensure and certification requirements as mandated by Singapore Nursing board.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
    • Current, unrestricted RN license in the Singapore Nursing Board.
    • CPR & AED certification required.
    • Previous experience in geriatric nursing or long-term care preferred.
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
    • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform nursing tasks.
    • Ability to lift and transfer residents with assistance as needed.
    • Visual and auditory acuity to assess residents' condition and respond to alarms or emergency situations.
