Job Description:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce hygiene and sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with local health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met in all areas, including kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, storage areas, and backofhouse spaces.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate records and documentation related to cleaning schedules, pest control, waste management, and health inspections.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, if required, for pest control, waste management, and other hygienerelated services.
  • Stewarding Team Supervision:
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of stewards responsible for cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, dining areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Schedule and assign duties to stewards, ensuring proper coverage and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for stewards on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, proper chemical handling, and equipment maintenance.
Monitor the performance of stewards, provide feedback, and address any performance or disciplinary issues.

  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, and safe storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, and machinery.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to schedule preventive maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and other related materials, and order replenishments as necessary.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials, following safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including kitchen, dining, and facilities management, to address hygiene and cleanliness concerns and implement necessary improvements.
  • Communicate regularly with management, providing updates on hygiene protocols, inspections, and improvements.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the stewarding team and participate in management meetings to discuss operational matters and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with local health and safety regulations and industry best practices related to hygiene, sanitation, and stewarding.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on hygiene practices, including proper hand hygiene, personal hygiene, food handling, and cleaning procedures.
  • Monitor staff compliance with hygiene protocols and provide additional training or corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure that the establishment is prepared for health inspections and conduct internal audits to identify and address potential hygiene issues.
Job Requirement

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the food and beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Indepth knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation practices is highly desirable.
