About us:

DHL Supply Chain (DSC) seeks a Regional Privacy and Data Protection Officer who will be part of DSC's Data Protection Organisation and will report directly to the Global Head of Privacy and Data Protection (who is based in Germany).

This role is responsible for further developing and executing a data protection compliance framework in the APAC region.

This position can be based in any country where DSC operates in APAC (ideally in Singapore, Malaysia, or India) but will need to frequently adapt to EU time zones.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities in this role include:

Being main contact within DHL Supply Chain APAC region with regards to data protection questions internally and externally.
Functionally managing, coordinating and supporting Data Protection Officials and Data Protection Officers of DHL Supply Chain APAC.
Ensuring compliance with APAC data protection related laws, the DHL Privacy Policy, as well as Data Protection Management System.
Maintaining the data protection record of processing activities, and conducting, coordinating, or reviewing privacy and data protection impact assessments.
Providing pragmatic advice on the implementation of DSC's data protection by design and by default framework, including issues such as data governance, organisational and technical measures, and pseudonymisation.
Supporting stakeholders to conduct data protection due diligence of thirdparty providers and negotiating data processing agreements with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
Developing privacy and data protection awareness and training outputs and delivering them within APAC.
Creating progress reports for the data protection compliance framework, resource consumption and residual risks, as required by regional or global senior management.
Managing incoming data protection audits and conducting data protection related audits.
Support implementing and refining of data protection controls, processes, and standards.
Remaining abreast of global developments in privacy, data protection, and information security regulatory and legal frameworks.

Requirements:

Minimum five years in providing compliance advice, of which minimum one year in privacy and data protection
A CIPP-E certification or other equivalent privacy or data protection certifications
Strong knowledge of APAC and/or EU data protection and privacy legal frameworks
Experience working in multinational companies or organisations
Solid technical knowledge and understanding of current data management, and information and communication technologies
Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak very effectively to different types of stakeholders, across functions, hierarchies, and cultures
Very good presentation skills
Pragmatic and highly effective problemsolving skills
Ability to deal with people effectively and courteously, and to make things done by influencing
Advanced prioritization skills based on risk level and senior stakeholder management expectations
Effective senior stakeholder management
Strong project management skills
Commercial orientation and customer focus
Proficient knowledge in MS Office Suite
