Reporting to Jetstar Asia CEO, this role will manage the Finance & Strategy functions and collaborates closely with Group Finance and Group Strategy.

The incumbent plays a key leadership role in managing business profit and supporting the business growth plan. The incumbent also plays a key role in corporate governance.


Other Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and reporting of Jetstar Asia's business strategies and plans
  • Develop budgets, forecasts and business KPIs
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Provide commercial and financial input to contract negotiations
  • Work closely with management team to provide direction and support to achieve the lowest cost position, to meet business plan profits and growth objectives
  • Ensure good corporate governance at all times
  • Develop appropriate financial, treasury and risk management policies and ensure all transactions are in line with the approval levels and policies
  • Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, statutory and fiscal requirements
  • Develop relevant financial management and reporting processes, systems and controls to support the business
  • Put in place proper systems and controls, to ensure business integrity
  • Report to Newstar Board on financial performance and other significant matters on a timely basis
  • Effectively manage the Finance functions
  • Delivery of accurate and timely financials/reports
  • Oversee the treasury functions including foreign currency and fuel hedging.
  • Oversee corporate secretarial function
  • Oversee compliance with tax requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Group Finance policies including Balance Sheet Reconciliation policy and other Financial Control requirements
  • Create an effective Finance Department
  • Oversee the daytoday operations to ensure adequate coverage and drive continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes
  • Performance management and development of team members

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • University degree or professional accounting qualification
  • CPA
  • Minimum 15 years extensive experience
  • People developer
  • Strong people and leadership skills
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong knowledge of FRS
  • Audit experience preferred
  • Ability to manage projects on time and to requirements
  • Strong management, financial and analytical skills
  • Good business acumen
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
