  • Optimise the LNG portfolio Annual delivery Programme to monetise flexibility value.
  • Work with Contract Managers during ADP negotiation periods to propose to the counterparty the ADP with the highest value.
  • Identify market exposure and propose hedging approaches.
  • Run dynamic shipping optimisation of the FOB cargoes to allocate them to the highest market.
  • Run scenarios in order optimise portfolio value following external changes (e.g. price moves or operational issues), then suggest these scenarios to Spot traders and/or Contract Managers for implementation with counterparty.
  • Optimise the LNG Carrier fleet and propose to Shipping Commercials chartering opportunities (in or out) with a breakeven rate. Conversely, evaluate chartering opportunities (in or out) brought by Shipping Commercials to decide on execution.
  • Work on monetisation of regas capacity and optimise sendouts.
  • Economic valuation of LNG deals (spot, midterm).
  • Analyse portfolio fit of a deal and provide Spot Traders with breakeven prices. Evaluate risk components of the deal and propose hedging.
  • Provide shipping cost to the Economics team for long term trade valuation and work with Long Term LNG Marketer to structure a deal (in particular with regards to optionality).
  • Monitor portfolio positions (physical cargoes, index exposures, regas and shipping balances).
  • Aggregate market and contract information from LNG traders and Contract Managers, to recommend trading strategy / opportunities to LNG Trading team.
  • Follow all various events affecting the life of the portfolio (changes related to ADP or 90day scheduling, marks, cargo allocations, SPA amendments, Spot deals, etc), anticipate their impact and translate them into the LNG risk position in accordance with the marktomarket procedures set by Risk Control.
  • Provide expertise to other LNG Business Unit department (LNG Marketing, Business Development), in particular with regards to shipping valuation, contract flexibilities, optionality values and pricing.
  • Work with Operations, Middle Office and IT to improve trading systems (Book, Flow, Signal)

  • The growth of TGPL LNG activity is in line with the intense growth in the world LNG industry, where LNG increasingly is a means for oil and gas companies to monetise and book gas reserves.
  • The LNG trading activity leverages on the optimisation of the flexible cargoes (FOB).

***TotalEnergies Gas and Power Asia ("TEGPA") is focused on trading activities (in the physical and derivatives markets) in the Asia Pacific region with respect to LNG, gas & power and dry bulk products such as petcoke and sulphur, as well as business development activities in the same region with relation to those products. With respect to LNG, in addition to its long-term contracts for the purchase of LNG destined for the Asian market and its long-term sale contracts with Asian buyers, TEGPA is very active on the physical spot market. As part of the Trading Division in the Company's Gas, Renewables and Power segment, TEGPA works closely with the Geneva Branch of TotalEnergies Gas & Power Limited and with the Gas Division's head office teams in Paris.
