THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Provision of an efficient accounting and reporting function.
  • Ensure the accurate financial records that are maintained in accordance with Firm policies and IFRS
  • Coordinating the external audit including preparation of financial year end accounts. Prepare all schedules for financial reporting in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Effective leadership and development of employee performance within the Singapore business finance team.
  • Provision of all reports and data of a financial accounting nature required by the Director for Business Finance, Asia
  • Day to day management of the office's cash flow, including liaison with the Bank Relationship Managers regarding banking facilities. Compliance with all Banking and Reporting Covenants.
  • Work with the Partner Services team to manage the Partner's individual tax and personal financial reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with taxes applicable to the office, highlight any issues to the Global Tax team and the Senior Finance Manager, Southeast Asia on a timely basis.
  • Provide an excellent time responsive level of service externally to clients and internally to the Partners and staff of the Firm.
  • Provide proactive advice to the business on finance matters. Raise issues as appropriate and take ownership of resolution.
  • Management of the Credit Control Team including close monitoring of the office's overall WIP and debtor position. Involvement in resolving debtor related issues with practice group Business Finance leads and Partners.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as requested and in particular, provide timely responses to the project team that is tasked to implement a global practice management system (Expert).
  • Management of the payroll team including the timely and accurate payment of employees.
  • Work with the HR team to deliver a professional service in relation to compensation, tax and benefits.
  • Interaction with and support of Practice Group Finance teams on Singapore related matters.
  • Communicate all significant issues of a financial nature or relating to the Business Finance team to the Senior Finance Manager, Southeast Asia to ensure there are "no surprises".

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified
  • CA/CPA qualified
- minimum 10 years' experience in finance and accounting roles with at least 5 years in the professional services industry would be preferrable

  • Fluency in English with Chinese language skills advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a transactional/ process focused finance team.
  • Experience working in a Partnership structure would be an advantage.
  • Experience building a high performing team.
  • Experience with Aderant Expert Practice management system would be an advantage but is not essential.
