    Summary


    The Resource Planner is responsible for short-term planning, development and review of resource plans and rosters ensuring optimal allocation of the key operational resources including manpower, equipment and facilities.

    This role will cover short-term planning of at least 48 hours to 1 month ahead and also on the day of operation if required.


    The Resource Planner will be planning for rosters across all ground handling functions regularly, and as required by the business.

    The Resource Planner works on fixed hours over 5 days' week across weekdays and weekends.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Accountable for ensuring that the allocation of resources is undertaken independently, withoutprejudice, and in-line with the planned business needs, the dynamic real-time operational demands,and the unscheduled customer requirements; whilst achieving the targeted levels of the currentService Level Agreements

    Manage the issued rosters and ensure optimal staff coverage


    Actively work with the Operational shift in-charge by providing expert advice, input, and direction in order to respond to dynamic changes during the shift; for example, in cases of staff sickness or absence actively review allocation plans and make recommendations as to whether replacement or over-time is required.

    Undertake actions as agreed to update the administrative section regarding staff non-attendance

    Identifying potential risks to staffing and equipment availability and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. This includes planning for emergencies, labour shortages, equipment failures, and other unforeseen challenges.

    Provide the Resource Planning Manager with strategic analysis on "what-if" scenarios by finding efficiency-increasing ways to roster staff and preview and review the allocation of resources and interfere where necessary

    Strict adherence to the policies prevalent to resource planning, such as return to work policies and conforming to the Employment act guidelines


    Effectively communicate the resource allocation plan to the resources either directly or via the operational shift in charge and continually monitor the progress of the assigned tasks to the resources.


    Maintain regular coordination and communication with resource planning team and IT to ensure that the decision support systems deliver functional results and are configured in line with the operational needs.

    Keep up-to-date with all existing and new system functionalities for the systems relevant to the allocation function.


    Monitor the effectiveness of the allocation plan and continually feedback recommendations regarding roster solutions and resource engagement standards to the relevant resource planning team.

    Continuously keep up-to-date on the service and resource levels agreed by the departments through coordination with the relevant standards and procedures staff, line managers and supervisors.

    Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedures

    Requirements

    Minimum Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution

    Min. 7 years of experience in Planning, Rostering or Optimisation roles

    Strong analytical ability, diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with ability to anticipate future needs to make strategic decisions on optimising resource utilisation

    Excellent time management, prioritization, with creative and lateral thinking

    Must possess advanced computer skills with an awareness of specialist applications, packages, programme languages, and high proficiency of MS-Office

    Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken

    System user training required on Inform suite. Knowledge of the Inform suite is highly advantageous.

    Prior experience or knowledge of the aviation industry will be advantageous. Understanding the dynamics of aircraft scheduling, crew allocation, and airport operations (especially RBS and Cargo) can be beneficial.
