    ABS is seeking high-caliber engineers who want to join a world-class team of professionals passionate about helping clients identify hazards associated with their novel concept, new technology, alternate fuels, operations/processes and improve their process safety/risk management performance.


    Job Duties/ Roles:


    Be responsible for risk study in the areas of HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA/FMECA, managing process hazard analysis (PHA) and/ or layer of protection analysis (LOPA) engagements with clients.

    Lead and/or scribe hazard analyses and related activities for various marine and offshore clients.


    Participate in or lead project teams comprising of internal (ABS) and external stakeholders in research and development projects related to risk assessment for using new technologies such as emerging energy storage systems and alternative fuels such as ammonia and methanol in marine and offshore industries.

    Develop relevant Rules, procedures, and/or software tools for risk assessment.


    What You Will Need:
    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical.

    Years of experience 4-6 years in the field of chemical or mechanical engineering

    Experience as a facilitator and/or scribe for HAZID, HAZOP, PHA and LOPA workshops

    Knowledge of marine and offshore regulations.

    Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Marine, offshore and Process industry experience.

    Safety and risk management experience.

    Experience scribing, and/or leading HAZID, PHAs (using HAZOP, what-if, checklists, etc.) and/or LOPAs. Knowledgeable/proficient with Microsoft Word and one or more commercial risk (PHA or equivalent) software programs.

    Willing to travel to assignments as needed

    Proficient or adept at learning to conduct client team meetings "remotely" via Web (TEAMS, WebEx, etc.)
