    Description

    The Role

    Maintain professional standards in the provision of nursing care and patient education to patients in collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary health care team. Provide orientation and guidance for junior nursing personnel through continuing education and supervision to achieve quality nursing care. Assume responsibilities for the day to day operations of the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager or Nurse Clinician.

    Key accountabilities

    • Manage and plan the care management of individual patient using the 4-prong Systematic Approach to Nursing Delivery comprising Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
    • Assist the Nurse Manager to set shortand long-term goals for the unit
    • Participate in action plans for the unit to enhance employee engagement and maximize employee performance
    • Maintain current trends in nursing practice and management through formal education and self-development
    • Participate in physician roundsand collaborative with physician and members of healthcare team to ensure continuity of patient care and follow through of treatment plans
    • Demonstrate competency in nursing coreand special skills
    • Supervise junior nursing personnel in providing quality nursing care. Monitor and assess junior nurses' competency progression and performance
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

    Qualifications & Experience

    Criteria for Senior Staff Nurse:

    • Diplomain Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
    • Post Basic and Degree in Nursing
    • Registeredwiththe Singapore Nursing Board is preferred
    • At least 8 yearscontinuous acute hospital/clinical experience
    • Chaperone duty required

    Criteria for Staff Nurse:

    • Diplomain Nursing or equivalent and recognised by the Singapore Nursing Board
    • Post Basic in Nursing
    • Degree in Nursing is preferred
    • Registeredwiththe Singapore Nursing Board is preferred
    • At least5yearscontinuous acute hospital/clinical experience
    • Chaperone duty required
