Position Objective:

The Head of Marketing & Communications is responsible for:

  • Contributing to the development of the College's marketing and communication strategy
  • Leading the development, execution, and performance management of the marketing and communication program to support the college's growth agenda and set targets.
**Responsibilities:
_Performance and integrated marketing management _

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to drive pupil recruitment and support school growth to meet set targets.
  • Create an annual integrated Marketing Plan and budget aligned with short to longterm goals.
  • Monitor competitor performance and inform school development and marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent use of school branding and related assets.
  • Execute marketing activities, including events, digital marketing, advertising, and PR.
  • Identify and participate in communitybased initiatives for brand perception.
  • Foster feeder relationships and generate new enquiries within the local community.
  • Ensure up to date website content, parent portal and communication resources, leveraging enhancement opportunities.
  • Strategize utilisation of appropriate social media and suitable channels for recruitment and retention promotion.
  • Oversee production of external marketing collateral, such as prospectus and direct marketing materials.

_Community engagement and Communication management _

  • Establish a comprehensive customer communication programme for engagement, retention, and advocacy.
  • Manage PRbased media relations and maintain positive relationships with local media.
  • Review and improve school communications to parents and the extended community.
  • Create or update all printed community communication materials, including prospectus, handbooks, and yearbooks.
  • Work closely with the school leadership team (and where applicable, with the extended Asia regional team), to contribute to the annual focus for communicating and executional timing relating to the school calendar, which reflects the overarching framework for parent communications across each academic year, covering academic and nonacademic communications.
  • Draft highquality communications and maintain editorial control.
  • Implement regular parent communications across multiple channels.
  • Manage internal communications budget for events and materials.
  • Develop expert understanding of school provision and programs.
  • Manage the implementation of the annual parent satisfaction survey (Voice of the Parent annual survey 'VOP') and using data, identify opportunities and actions for improvements.
  • Manage and implement actions items from feedback gained through the VOP leaver survey, leading to improved retention of avoidable leavers.

_Events management _

  • Implement an annual program of community events which reflect the multiple communication needs of the school and its parents; including events that educate and inform, events that promote the school's strengths and achievements, events that celebrate milestones and other relevant days.
  • Partner with the Admissions teams for joint programs and events such as open days, pupil visits, etc.

_Leadership and Team management _

  • Lead a small team providing marketing, communications, and event support.
  • Mentor and develop the marketing team by ensuring new staff undergo induction & orientation, staff development plans and performance goals are completed. Ensure each team member is supported so their full potential can be reached, with provision for succession.

_Stakeholder management and partnership _

  • Work in conjunction with Brighton College International, to align on Brighton brand guidelines and overall marketing strategy.

Position Requirements:


  • Experienced consumer marketing professional with a developed knowledge of the full gamut of marketing and multichannel deployment; experience of designing and developing campaigns, optimising returns as well as leading and managing agency resources to generate outstanding work that achieves results.
  • 5+ years corporate level communications expertise with experience across multiple channels to multiple audiences.
  • Digitally savvy, being able to harness the digital environment to effectively engage with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Datasavvy with experience in analysing data, market dynamics and designing creative and pragmatic solutions, to drive pupil recruitment.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to create and adapt tone of voice relevant to the audience whilst working within an overarching corporate style.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Must have outstanding communication skills in English, both spoken and written, with demonstrated experience in content management systems and social media channels.
  • Experience in event management required.
  • Mentoring and leadership skills, including hiring and developing team members from diverse background
