Description

Import & Export Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee handling of all goods and ensure safety in all transportation and design cost effective methods for the same and analyse best means of transport for all products as per customer requirement in coordination with manager.
  • Administer all import and export of goods and supervise delivery of all goods and manage distribution of all goods to various geographical locations efficiently.
  • Monitor implementation of all department operations and ensure compliance to all regulations for department and subsidiaries and adhere to all standards for import and export goods and establish all targets and streamline processes to incorporate all government regulations.
  • Perform all internal and external audits and perform required prior disclosures for all processes and supervise efficient working of all external agents such as freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Design all compliance forms and templates and prepare required reports and maintain an efficient import and export classification database and ensure accuracy in the same and ensure compliance to all regulations.
  • Assist all companies in import and export operations and implement trade agreement programs and maintain internal controls for the same.
  • Consultation of the clients regarding insurances, duties and taxes.
  • Maintenance of customer relations and participation in the organisation's sales activities.
  • Deals with warehousing, transportation or distribution of goods.
  • Resolve complex issues that have been escalated and expedite solutions with clients,customer officials and shippers.
  • Assessment of new marketing and sales opportunities as well as presentation of those estimations to the respective management.
  • Use the best and most economical method to prepare goods for shipment.
  • Assist companies import and export operations and implement trade agreement programs and maintain internal controls for the same.
  • Handle and process all import and export documents.
  • Updating and following up on outstanding orders with overseas suppliers.
  • Managing the stocks inbound & outbound in our external warehouses.
  • Provide Strong Sourcing and Procurement Activities.
  • Conduct Market Analysis of new and existing markets.
  • In charge of Sales Reports and Stock Analysis.
  • In charge of Sales Forecast and Followup calls.
  • Ensure Complete Deliveries on Time.
  • Handles customer complaints and feedback.
  • Import & export cost management, minimise extra surcharge, find cost saving opportunities and implementation.
  • Maintain and monitor KPIs, generate monthly reports, including data analysis, and improvement actions.
  • Preparation of billing after the job is completed.
  • Resolve escalated incidents and crises arising from daytoday operations.
  • Ensure daily administrative and secretarial support to the team, including daily correspondences, maintenance of filing system, printing and photocopying, updating official travel and leave plan, visitor's list and event list.
  • Supervise the vehicles, drivers and messengers.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the director.

Import & Export Manager Requirements and skills

  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in related fields is preferred.
  • Proven working experience as an Import & Export manager.
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Proficiency with computerised financial systems, such as accounting programs(Tally etc.), databases, payment processing, excel spreadsheets, payroll services.
  • Working knowledge of management software programs, including NetSuite, QuickBooks.
  • Strong IT skills, including database development.
  • Knowledge in SAP system.
- knowledge in Portnet, Tradenet, Trip Management System.
