    Roles & Responsibilities

    Direct Search Global is working with an international marine and offshore supplier to fill the role of Commercial Manager in their Singapore office. The office is in Tuas area.     Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead and inspire a team to drive engagement and business success through coaching and development.
    • Cultivate a culture of accountability and values within the organization, nurturing a high-performing team and facilitating talent acquisition and retention.
    • Drive the team towards meeting collective objectives and timelines, implementing processes effectively, and fostering change management.
    • Act as a strategic partner for sales and operations, enhancing the customer journey.
    • Develop and maintain procurement policies ensuring compliance with regulations, managing risks in third-party relationships, and optimizing purchasing procedures.
    • Proactively assess and mitigate risks associated with key suppliers while focusing on cost efficiencies.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally, particularly with Sales, to implement robust supply chain management practices and SOPs using systems like SAP.
    • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of procurement SOPs, ensuring adherence and effectiveness.
    • Strategize contract modifications based on supplier performance, meeting procurement requirements and quality standards.
    • Verify and authorize payments to suppliers based on product delivery verifications and reconciliations.
    • Establish audit procedures for procurement documentation to minimize risks.
    • Stay updated on economic, industry, and supply market conditions to adjust strategies and ensure competitive and adequate supply.
    • Undertake other responsibilities as delegated by the manager.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, along with 4-6 years of relevant experience in category management, procurement, and team leadership, preferably within a high mix/volume industry.
    • Highly self-driven individual with exceptional interpersonal abilities and strong leadership qualities.
    • Certification or experience in Lean Six-Sigma and/or Project Management is advantageous.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adept at facilitating change and optimizing processes across various departments.
    • Analytical, innovative, and business-oriented problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in negotiation, change management, and process implementation, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization and garnering support both vertically and horizontally.
