    At IPS, you'll apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Lead Piping Engineer to join our team at our office located in Singapore.

    In this role, you will work on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager and Piping Manager. You will play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, and problem resolution.

    Position Responsibilities

  • Develops design concepts; prepares documents during the design development phase.
  • Corrects and updates the Piping design documents.
  • Develops solutions to design problems.
  • Uses computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with the Client's requirements and various internal standards.
  • Attends pre-bid meetings and assists the project team in evaluating commercial proposals.
  • Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
  • Archives and retrieves data from electronic databases for support of work.
  • Researches equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
  • Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to ensure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
  • Researches non-routine code issues and obtains interpretations from code officials.
  • Provides limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff.
  • Actively participates in process design reviews and the preparation of relevant datasheets for specialty items.
  • Provides support for overall project budgeting and Engineering hours estimation.
  • Implements various GMP and EHS requirements throughout project execution, ensuring alignment with Client's rigorous standards.

    Qualifications & Requirements

  • 10+ years of previous design experience.
  • Is proficient in the use of computers for design and understands CAD operations.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design.
  • Capable of effectively managing multi-office execution of piping engineering projects.
  • Has understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Chinese communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree of any four years Engineering course preferably Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
  • Process industrial experience, especially in the Life Sciences industries.
  • Customer Service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
