    Description
    As Cluster Director (Media Industry Cluster), you will dream, design, and deliver projects and policies to drive the growth of Media Industry and development of media professionals to achieve economic and social outcomes. Key areas include media subsectors of film, broadcast and social media, as well as media talent development, supporting media enterprises and advancing the use of tech in media. You will sense-make, formulate, and execute cross-cutting strategies and practical approaches across the Cluster to support the growth of media enterprises and talent to compete internationally. In doing so, you will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the local and global media value chains and industry clusters, and its impact and application on the Cluster's work.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the development of Media Industry as well as Public Service Broadcasting. Drive economic and social outcomes through ensuring strategies and plans are executed to meet intended objectives.
    • Stakeholder Management. Lead the strategic discussions related to media, which includes engaging local and overseas media companies and deepening partnerships with local and overseas industry associations and Institutes of Higher Learning.
    • Formulate and strategise plans to develop and grow the Media Industry. Drive full spectrum of industry development work including designing interventions to support media industry local and international growth, and marketing and promotional efforts including running the Singapore Media Festival.
    • Develop new partnerships, initiatives and programmes that explore use of media in new ways.
    • Track operations to ensure deliverables/KPIs are met and in line with project rollouts. This includes handling audits and instilling rigour in critical thinking when seeking programmes' and projects' approval.
    • Guide the budget allocation, spend and future planning across the media industry cluster.
    • Mentor and coach teams by working alongside with vertical media teams to achieve the team KPIs.

    Requirements

    • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics or Political Science.
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in broad management, preferably in policy formulation and design and/or industry development.
    • Background in Media or related sectors e.g.: Lifestyle is preferred. Has prior experience in using data-centric approaches in developing strategies and initiatives across industry ecosystem.
    • Strong leadership skills. Able to formulate big picture, connect dots and networks, frame issues, do strategic thinking and have mental capacity to absorb information and reorganise information.
    • Track record in winning strategies. Strategic thinker, data-driven and forward looking.
    • Recognise strategic opportunities or risk implications at national, sectoral and organisational levels.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills. Able to influence and advocate the media sector to internal (organisation and government) and external (industry) stakeholders.
    • Operational excellence. Self-driven, agile, results oriented individual that possesses operational excellence to deliver on winning strategies and outcomes. Strong communicator, with good influencing and negotiating skills. Keeps up to date with industry and trends. Able to frame issues, identify clear problem statements, conduct system analysis, formulate and delegate clear action plans.
    • People management. Effective in stakeholder and people management. Ability to drive and foster collaborations within teams and multiple organisations.

    Position will be commensurate with experience.
