We have an opportunity for an Analyst in Moody's Sovereign Risk Group (SRG) to join the Singapore-based team and be responsible for the credit analysis of a portfolio of sovereign governments and multinational development banks, with a focus on Asia Pacific sovereign and supranational issuers.

The Analyst will provide insightful credit analysis, maintaining the adequacy of ratings through monitoring and research, interacting with investors and issuers at senior levels, and representing the group at conferences and meetings.

This position requires an in-depth understanding of credit trends affecting sovereigns and multilateral institutions. The analyst is to manage effective interaction with government and supranational representatives, investors, and the media.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform indepth fundamental credit analysis on the issuers of a portfolio of sovereign entities and multinational development banks
  • Proactively monitor and maintain accuracy of credit ratings for issuers in the portfolio
  • Manage relationship with issuers in portfolio; conduct analytical meetings with issuers
  • Contribute to the team's indepth, high quality, insightful and focused research on credit trends, both in the form of short and timely and indepth reports
  • Effectively work with other analysts and associate analysts to strengthen depth of analysis, including colleagues in other lines of business and especially in subsovereign
  • Communicate with investors and other market participants about Moody's credit ratings, credit analyses and market views
  • Experience in sovereign credit analysis or related experience with an indepth understanding of the drivers of sovereign credit
  • Approximately 510 years of relevant professional experience. Strong background in macroeconomic analysis required
  • Quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
  • Background in generating and producing research, focused on macroeconomics or other topics relevant to sovereign credit
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to form independent opinion and explain own views
  • Fluency in English is essential. Good knowledge of other language would be an asset
  • Willingness to travel
