Redstone Commodity Search are working with a physical trading house based in Singapore, who are looking to hire a senior coal trader to manage the APAC trading activities.


Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Responsible for the physical backtoback trading activities for coal and solid fuels across the APAC region
  • Manage and lead a team of 3 traders across Singapore, Dubai and China
  • Coordinate with global sales teams, as well as working closely with the operations and shipping departments ensuring correct shipping and documentation
  • Forecast and analyse trading volumes in order to budget and plan ahead
  • Role reports into the Director of APAC

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years coal trading experience focused on the APAC region
  • Strong network of clients and counterparts, especially miners, refineries and suppliers
  • Proven PnL responsibility and track record
  • Ability to manage and lead an established trading team (past managerial experience would be advantageous)
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication, additional Asian languages would be advantageous (Mandarin, Malay, Bahasa, Thai etc)
  • Located in Singapore or happy to relocate
