    Roles & Responsibilities

    Our client is a regional energy and commodity trading firm headquartered in Asia. Singapore is the headquarter for the international commodity trading business. The business trades across petroleum products, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. As the Head of Legal, you will be reporting directly to the CEO and managing the legal function for the organization.

    Responsibilities

    This will be an exciting opportunity for the Head of Legal to come onboard to help manage the legal risk for the organization. Managing another independent, mid level lawyer, the legal function will be providing advice on a wide range of commercial agreements including but not limited to master sales & purchase agreement, charterparty agreement, ISDA Master Agreements on the commodity derivatives. You will be actively involve in strategic discussion of the business and working closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transaction.

    Requirements

    In order to succeed in this role, you should have at least 12 years of working experience in a commodity trading/oil & gas environment. Prior experience in people management would be helpful for this role. You should ideally be called to the Singapore bar. As the role covers North Asia, mandarin speaking and reading capabilities will have an advantage.
