MAIN PURPOSE:


The Crane Operator's main purpose is to competently operate platform pedestal cranes under the direction of nominated platform personnel and in accordance with the authorised operator's instructions manual, platform operating procedures, Company QA system, Standing InstructionsNo.1 and other relevant documentation.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Carry out routine checks on the crane in accordance with the maintenance procedures and prestart checklist.
  • Competently operate platform pedestal cranes under the direction of nominated Client personnel. Crane operating duties are restricted to the specific crane(s) and platform(s) on which the Employee has been deemed competent. Operations should be carried out in accordance with the authorised operator's instructions manual, platform operating procedures and appropriate sections of the Company's Quality Assurance Manual, (ie Standing Instruction No.1) and other relevant documentation.
  • Inform Sparrows Engineer of any concerns in a prompt manner and keep them updated on work progress.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in your work area.
  • Remain safety cautious and use compulsory PPE.
  • It is the responsibility of the incumbent to be fully familiar with all Installation Safety and Emergency Procedures.
  • The incumbent is responsible for giving a detailed report of any crane incidents to the Sparrows Engineer.
  • Form part of the platform HLO/HDA crew where required/agreed.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Can demonstrate at least 3 years of crane operation knowledge and work experience.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Sparrows Offshore Crane Operator Stage
  • Complete Sparrows new employee/ contractor induction.
  • BOSIET is a must for offshore work.
  • Relevant MOM qualification is required for onshore work in Singapore dependant on the type of works carried out.
