Your tasks

As a Sanction List Screener, your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with national and international regulations by screening individuals, organizations, and transactions against various sanction lists.

You will play a crucial role in mitigating financial and reputational risks for the organization by identifying and reporting potential matches and suspicious activities.

The Role:

Sanction Screening: Conduct comprehensive and accurate screenings of individuals, entities, and transactions against internal and external sanction lists, including governmentissued lists, watchlists, and embargo lists.
Risk Assessment: Analyze and assess the risk level associated with potential matches, considering factors such as location, industry, transaction type, and political exposure.
Investigation and Research: Conduct thorough research and investigation to verify the identity and legitimacy of potential matches, utilizing available resources and tools to gather relevant information.
Documentation and Reporting: Document screening results and maintain detailed records of identified matches, false positives, and relevant case notes. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to management and compliance departments as required.

Qualifications:

Diploma in Legal or General Management
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of international sanction regulations, including OFAC, EU, UN, and other relevant sanction programs
Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources
Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when assessing risk
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate screening results and escalate potential matches.
