Senior Research Analyst I - Singapore - DOW JONES AER COMPANY, INC. (SINGAPORE BRANCH)

Description

Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to work as a part of a team covering market research and analysis of the Asian Aromatics market. Key activities will be maintaining, updating, and expanding the CMA database and models.

You will:

• Oversight of content, forecast methodology and quality.
• Provide ongoing analysis to the Aromatics services, generating and analysing trends, cost, and demand dependencies for products involved.
• Take ownership of the charts and tables that are published routinely and update them as required.
• Provide editorial overview on text submitted by global product experts for various reports.
• Create presentation materials in Microsoft Power Point for meetings and conferences.
• Respond to client questions and serve as a resource for client brainstorming/discussions.
• Supply/Demand – maintain production capacity database, and supply-demand balance forms through entire product chains including annual L-forms, short forms and quarterly balances as needed.
• Regional coordination with critical internal functions and other business lines.
• Working with the product service leads, engage functions, including Sales & Marketing, to facilitate business growth.
• Engage with other business lines to leverage the Chemical Market Analytics total solution.
• Work with the global team to ensure global product area consistency and continuity.

You have:

• General chemical industry knowledge is essential, and previous experience of working in the Aromatics sector will be preferred.
• 3+ years industry experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
• An engineering degree is essential. MBA a strong plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to achieve set deadlines and with a high attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Confident to speak/present to global clients or any internal/external events. Confident to face challenges and requests from clients.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Candidate must have Advance level expertise in Microsoft Excel
