    The Senior Process Mechanical Engineer leads the preparation and submission of the project technical documentation for the mechanical design, configuration, procurement, installation, and commissioning of process equipment and utilities for projects within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences or Laboratory industries.

    What You'll Do

  • Lead Process/utility equipment document preparation and tender, and post-order package management.
  • Prepare Technical Specifications/standards and requisition for selected equipment based on Process engineering usage calculations. Equipment examples would be static & rotary equipment like pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, condensers, pumps, compressors, etc.
  • Selection of rotating equipment in accordance with applicable international codes according to ITB or relevant specifications.
  • Resolves technical issues using acquired knowledge during the execution of the engineering stage, fabrication stage, and post-delivery.
  • Support & Attend Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Conduct Review & Bid Analysis of supplier technical documentation and tender returns.
  • Input into project capital cost estimates.
  • Leads design qualification for process equipment and utilities in conjunction with the CQV lead.
  • Produce Scopes of Work for sub-contractor project design and construction activities.
  • Develops and promotes the use of IPS design and production standards.
  • Coordinates with other Engineering disciplines and provides them with required input.
  • Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.

    Qualifications & Requirements

  • 10+ years of mechanical design experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, or Laboratory industries (industry experience is required).
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience doing equipment specifications for all process-oriented items once they have been sized by a Process Engineer. Equipment examples would be static & rotary equipment like pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, condensers, pumps, compressors, etc.
  • Chinese communication skills.
