Position Overview:

The Childcare Centre Cook/Cleaner plays a crucial role in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for young children while also providing nutritious meals. This position involves both culinary responsibilities and maintenance of cleanliness within the childcare center. The individual will be expected to work on an ad-hoc basis, adapting to the center's needs while being comfortable working around young children.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cooking Duties: Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for young children, adhering to dietary guidelines and ensuring food safety standards.
   
2. Cleaning Responsibilities:
   Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils after each use to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene.
   Conduct general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing common areas, including playrooms, bathrooms, and dining areas.
   
3. Flexibility and Adaptability: Be adaptable to varying work schedules and the changing needs of the childcare center, working on an ad-hoc basis as required.
   Demonstrate flexibility in tasks performed, readily assisting in additional duties that contribute to the smooth operation of the childcare center.
   

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a childcare setting, demonstrating competence in cooking and maintaining cleanliness.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and proper cleaning techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with young children and adapt to their needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with childcare center staff.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving around the childcare center.
• Certification in food handling and safety would be advantageous.
