Qualifications:
- GCE N / O level.
- Preferably a NITEC in dental assisting.
Experience:
- Preferably with frontline and customer service experience relevant work in Healthcare industry or in frontline service industry

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for a variety of roles and responsibilities in the dental clinic and to participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
Dental Assistantship and Patient Care
- Perform competent fourhanded Dentistry assistance to Dental Surgeon/Dental Officer/Oral Health Therapist
- Prepare of dental instrument or materials needed by the Dental Surgeon/Dental Officer/Oral Health Therapist
- Competent with charting
- Practice established infection control measures and adhere to infection control procedures and protocols
- Verify integrity of instruments packs and sets and ensure they have gone through sterilisation process and chemical indicator has changed color
- Staff must verify with another staff to ensure instrument had gone through sterile reprocessing
- Document instrument packs and sets used on patients in patient record in the electronic system for tracking purpose during a recall
- Manual documentation of instrument packs and sets during IT downtime, instrument packs opened but and not use on patient and instruments packs and sets that have reached the expiry date
- Ensure instruments packs and sets are arranged in the order of FIFO
- Report any critical incidents such as failed sterility
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of treatment room
- Return dirty trays/instruments to the decontamination room
- Replenish consumables, instruments, trays
- Assist in translation (if needed)
- Assist patient with their queries using postoperative education materials
- Act as chaperone/witness for Dental Surgeon/Dental Officer/Oral Health Therapist
- Ensure Dental Materials are not expired
- Ensure consumables and instrument are replenished timely
- Upkeep the treatment room's instrument inventory list
- Report abnormal results, faulty, damaged equipment or missing instrument to Dental Assistant in charge of equipment.
Sterilisation and Decontamination Room
- Able to perform the following tasks under supervision:
- Perform proper checking, packing with appropriate packages, sealing of dental instruments and labelling of packs before autoclaving
- Perform proper lubrication of dental instruments
- Perform autoclaving of packed dental sets and instruments
- Perform daily biological indicator and bowie dick tests and weekly validation of seal check
- Perform mechanical and chemical monitoring of sterilization
- Verify sterilisation parameters including quality assurance are met and autoclave printout and performance log sheets are properly documented and signed
- Inform supervisor and Infection Control Nurse Manager if there is a sterilisation failure and assist in recall if necessary
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning of the autoclave machines
- Report faulty or damaged dental instrument to Dental Assistant Team Lead / Infection Control Dental Assistant promptly
- Wash and disinfect dental chair potty and suction hoses at the end of the day
- Assist in timely reporting and follow up actions if there are abnormal results
- Assist and ensure loading of instrument and tray are done properly
- Assist and ensure autoclave forms are filed in appropriately
- Understand the recall workflow
Audits
- Articulate infection control standards during audits
- Ensure clinic is ready for the monthly and adhoc audits
- Assist to close the gaps from audit findings
Housekeeping
- Upkeep the cleanliness of the Pantry
- Upkeep the cleanliness of the Dental Lab
- Disinfect the common door handles every morning and end of the day (sliding door, door near pantry, Xray room, Sterilisation and Decontamination room)
- Disinfect wheelchairs
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform any other duties as assigned by Dental Services.

Roster Management
- Manage Xray, Pantry and Lab Cleaning rostering
Clerical Admin
- Archive documents (CROWN)
- Ensure laboratory cases from the incoming tray are distributed correctly to the Dental Surgeon's room
- Ensure laboratory cases are dispatched and back in timely manner before patient's attendance
- Responsible for the laboratory cases recording
