    Finance Department

    Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as Finance Business Partners to optimize corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.

    What impact can you make in this role?

    We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Statutory and Governance team with the Finance Department. As a member of the Statutory and Governance team, your responsibility includes oversight responsibility of the corporate legal entities to ensure compliance with in-country statutory and corporate tax regulations, drive process and controls rigor within and outside of the accounting system to effectively mitigate financial risks to the GIC Group.

    What will you do as an Associate, Statutory and Governance?

  • Ensure financial reporting and practices are in line with statutory law, adhere to IFRS, local statutory accounting standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of latest developments in global regulations and compliance requirements to help business drive optimal legal entity decisions
  • Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with relevant statutory requirements and perform variance analysis for reporting to management
  • Maintain and handle the Group's corporate secretarial and corporate taxation functions for Singapore and overseas offices
  • Perform analysis on the financial statements and address queries from auditors and regulators
  • Design robust financial processes and controls to mitigate financial risks to the Group
  • Maintain effective internal control system and liaise with external auditors
  • Support data maintenance and governance to ensure the integrity of financial data and proper governance in the use of business financial information
  • Lead initiatives to design, transform and innovate financial processes to meet business requirements
  • Work on projects periodically to meet new accounting and business requirements
  • What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and professional certifications such as CA, CPA
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in an accounting and/or audit function
  • Strong understanding and technical application of accounting standards, statutory and corporate tax regulations
  • A self-driven individual who is committed to deliver quality results in a timely manner in a dynamic and fast-pace work environment
  • Good understanding of finance operations, business controls and processes to drive a robust controllership environment
  • Highly-organised, results-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Independent, resourceful and able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and finance colleagues
  • Meticulous and hands-on individual with the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills, who is keen to learn and pick up new challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have practical working experience with accounting software systems (SAP experience is preferred)
