Manager, Investigation

Job Purpose

The Investigation Manager supports the organisation through working with the internal and external stakeholders to conduct investigations on incidents, accident and near misses. The manager also supports the branch manager to monitor and analyse incident and accident trends to management.

Responsibilities

To fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed below. Note that the list is not exhaustive; related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
Conduct investigations for Rail incident/accident and support Lines investigations.
Perform the role of onsite investigation officer in accordance to Rail Incident Management Plan.
Provide regular updates on accident, incident and near misses report to management.
Track and monitor followup actions arising from investigations.
Prepare, issue and file investigation reports and supporting documents.
Trend and conduct analysis of past incidents and suggest areas for improvement or focus.
Collaborate with Divisions' Safety Team in matters relating to investigation.
Liaison to TSIB and LTA, as required on any investigation matters.

Qualifications & Work Experience

Degree in relevant discipline.
Trained and experienced in investigation methodologies in relevant industries.
5 years of relevant working experience in similar role.
Proven experience in managing stakeholders.

Skills

Technical skills include:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficient in investigation report writing.
Generic skills include:
Demonstrated strong leadership abilities and organizational skills in previous work experience.
Critical thinker and problemsolving skills.
Good team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to multitask and work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
