  • Fund structuring

The role involves:


  • Assist and support tax partners by performing preliminary firstcut review of tax deliverables prepared by client engagement teams. This entails working closely with the tax partners and engagement team members to ensure that specific requirements of the client engagements are met, provision of the necessary tax research and technical input or support to the engagement teams as may be required, amendments of the draft deliverables, provision technical comments on the draft deliverables to engagement team members, participation in client calls on an asneeded basis.
  • Work with client engagement teams directly on tax engagements particularly those involving higher level of technical complexities (e.g. tax opinions on tax treaty interpretation, permanent establishment exposure analysis, nature of divestment gains, etc.). This may include providing the necessary technical support or guidance to the engagement team members, and depending on the requirement of the individual assignments on a casebycase basis, write, review and/or amend draft deliverables prior to final review by the tax partners.
  • Provide onthejob training and guidance to junior engagement managers and staff on tax technical and technical writing skills. On tax technical front, this would typically involve having discussions with the managers and staff on the tax issues of their specific client engagements, providing guidance on how to approach and analyse the issues as well as in coming up with technically sound solutions independently. On the technical writing front, this would entail providing guidance to the team on how to craft the written analysis / deliverables, with the objective of ensuring that the team is able to convey technical information to clients in the clearest and most effective manner possible.
  • Provide tax technical supports to the tax partners and engagement teams on adhoc basis in all corporate income tax areas, whether Singapore or international tax, including but not limited to tax treaty analysis, case law research, interpretation of the tax legislation and so forth.
  • Support tax partners on the development of new tax advice, on an asneeded basis, which may entail such phases from conceptualisation, brainstorming, technical research to writing / drafting of the advice template.
  • Support tax partners in the learning and development function for the asset management and real estate tax consulting team, including working with the partnerincharge to develop, design, customise or review training materials and training programme for the team.

Possess at least 8 years of relevant working experience in local Corporate Tax / Mergers & Acquisitions and/or international Corporate Tax with international professional services firm / regulatory bodies:

Possess tax advisory experience in fund structuring and/or real estate M&A in Singapore and international markets:

Possess a University degree and/or post-graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or Law
