Job Title: Chief Quality Officer

The Chief Quality Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services across NHG institutions.

Job Purpose

Support the Group Chief Quality Officer, Deputy Group Chief Quality Officer, and Deputy Director Quality Risk Management by:

  • Ensuring patient safety and quality of care

Initiate and work with NHG institutions to analyze, evaluate, and identify trends and best practices related to quality, patient safety, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote improvement and risk management strategies to ensure high standards and seamless provision of quality services, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Review, critically analyze, adapt, and improve the implementation of clinical practice guidelines, care bundles, and best practices in NHG settings
  • Develop, train, facilitate, and review course content for quality or patient safety-related training as a Faculty of the Institute of Healthcare Quality
  • Develop quality improvement initiatives and transformation work in NHG
  • Support leadership in developing and adapting NHG quality frameworks, such as quality and safety frameworks, to strengthen and advance the culture of quality improvement
  • Work collaboratively with cluster-level collaborative or project directors to establish secretariat functions and drive towards meeting desired outcomes
  • Facilitate, review quality projects, and provide consultation and coaching to frontline project teams, leaders, and quality secretariats
  • Prepare quality improvement reports with proposals and recommendations for discussion at the Quality Directors meeting and Clinical Board
  • Work collaboratively with iHiS and NHG institutions to design Quality DataMart and manage varied datasets for review, analysis, and implementing strategies
  • Colead the development of cluster-level quality databases by identifying, integrating, and analyzing data or indicators that impact quality and safety outcomes of the care system
  • Provide required analytics and visualization to support strategic decision-making for NHG leadership
  • Support identified stakeholders in analysis and establish insights for decisions that improve care and patient processes
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and prioritize analytical needs

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent Group Quality in ad-hoc committee work as assigned from time to time
  • Perform related managerial functions, including forecasting, budgeting, identifying learning needs, initiating career development plans, and mentoring staff

Requirements

(a) Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare setting and in a supervisory position
  • Experience in clinical standards and clinical quality
  • Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to maintain a big-picture perspective and understand institution constraints and challenges
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and skills in quality and process improvement approaches
  • Experience in MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, especially with data organization and presentation (graphs, charts), and communicate succinctly and concisely on written papers or slides for high-level reporting
  • Possess good organization skills and strong project management
