- Drive requirements specification
- Perform feasibility studies
- Drive conceptual and detailed design, using 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks)
- Perform FEA analysis, error budgeting, and hand calculations to support proposed designs
- Participate in and/or lead design reviews to obtain a peer-oriented design assessment.
- Procurement of prototype parts
- Build prototypes, testing and troubleshooting
- Prepare required documentation for release designs to manufacturing
- Communicate requirements, timelines, and deliverables clearly in written and verbal formats, both internally and externally
- Work closely with and manage suppliers to ensure all design requirements are achieved
- Minimum Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in developing and designing mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor processing/inspection equipment
- Excellent knowledge in SolidWorks and PDM
- Knowledge in applying GD&T principles and drafting standards
- Ability to interconnect Mechanical and Electrical knowledge for advanced product development
- Knowledge in using CAD system to develop circuit diagrams (pneumatic and electrical)
- Mechatronics experience in development of complete systems consisting of controllers/servo/step motors and sensors is preferred
