The role


The Data Archival Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing multiple data archival projects that impact one or more business units or one larger project.

This role involves overseeing all aspects of the assigned projects throughout their lifecycles to ensure successful completion within defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.

The Data Archival Project Manager will effectively allocate resources, liaise with stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.


Responsibilities:

Lead the project implementation and be involved in various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).


Conduct user requirement analysis for the development/implementation of data extraction to decommissioning of existing systems, including participation in the system testing phase.

Evaluate potential solutions and make recommendations on archival approaches to ensure efficient and effective data storage and retrieval.

Conduct end-user training to ensure smooth adoption and utilization of the archival systems.

Liaise closely with business users to understand their requirements, build rapport, and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Manage project deliveries, drive milestones and timelines, and monitor work progress to meet project requirements. Schedule activities to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.

Review work at critical milestones with team leaders or sponsors to maintain commitment and support.

Provide timely and accurate project progress information to stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and transparency.


Develop project plan:
Develop an integrated project plan, including detailed activities, resource planning, and cost estimation per project.

Work with stakeholders to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables.

Review project plan to determine time frames, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing projects.

Procure project requirements such as workforce, required information, agreements, and materials or technology needed.

Guide the team to deliver plans aligned with overall project objectives.

Set expectations for periodic and milestone reviews, including status reports, project risk identification, and other dashboards.


Implement project:
Drive the project to meet schedules, budget, manpower, and technical quality targets.

Ensure project discipline to document scope changes, issues, and risks that affect implementation.

Collaborate with users, technical staff, and management to determine and resolve issues associated with project implementation.

Conduct regular project reviews to recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource reallocation.


Manage teams:
Oversee team management, including budgets, forecasting, work allocations, and staffing.

Develop staff through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and career discussions.

Define common goals, direction, and accountability among the team members.

Drive effective performance management practices within the department in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

At least 5-8years proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in data archival or related projects.

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management principles.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to effectively manage and lead cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects from initiation to closure, including budget, scope, schedule, and resource management.

Experience in stakeholder management and vendor coordination.
