Type of Position:
Special-Education Teacher

Task Overview:
We are in search of a caring special education teacher with a background in instructing students with unique learning requirements. The perfect candidate will display qualities such as patience, creativity, and good organizational skills.
To excel as a special education teacher, it's crucial to be dedicated to assisting students, providing necessary help to help them overcome various challenges hindering their learning process.

Conducting lessons in a manner that effectively caters to a student's difficulties.
Offering assistance to students both academically and personally whenever needed.
Showing respect towards students and ensuring they are treated with dignity in the educational setting.
Preparing lessons in advance with a focus on the needs of individual learners.
Developing activities that align with the students' learning objectives.

Work Responsibilities:

Guide and support students in a group setting, in small clusters, and one-on-one
Evaluate students' abilities to identify their requirements and establish teaching strategies
Adjust lessons to suit the students' needs
Create Personalized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
Organize, plan, and allocate tasks that cater to each student's capabilities
Implement IEPs, evaluate students' performance, and monitor their progress
Regularly update IEPs during the academic year to reflect students' achievements and objectives
Engage with parents, educators, counselors, and administrators to discuss students' progress
Supervise and guide teacher assistants working with students who have disabilities
Provide written reports biannually and brief updates weekly using a communication tool
Participate in group discussions on client requirements and aims

Necessary Qualifications:

A Diploma or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or special education.
Holding a Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS) particularly from NIEC would be beneficial.
Prior experience in handling students with special needs. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a Learning Support Educator in the DSLS program
Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Regarding remuneration, the role offers a base salary ranging from $3500 to $4500, depending on your previous experience in SPED.
