**Job Summary: We are seeking someone to take on the Assistant Manager role, with the career path towards being the head of department by overseeing and ensuring our CareNight Programme thrives. Responsibilities includes planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling programme activities. The incumbent should be a compassionate leader and team player. He/she reports to Executive Director directly.


The incumbent is expected to work flexibly as per operational requirements for 8 hours between 9am to 10pm on weekdays (4 hours on Saturdays when required).

The organisation operates on hybrid work mode, however, he/she is required to travel to and from various CareNights centres, or attend conferences, trainings, and other events or meetings.

**Key responsibility areas: Overseeing of CareNights' Admin and Operations requirements:

  • Manage the annual budget and operating plan to support CareNights needs
  • Develops curriculum for the children under our care and ensures proper delivery
  • Ensure that activities operate and comply within the policies and procedures of the organization and all relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the programme for reporting purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization
  • Manage all programme funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements according to the established timelines
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with programme activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
  • Monitor and report regarding programme activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to the programme evaluation framework; recommend changes to enhance the programme, as appropriate

Manpower Management:

  • In consultation with the Executive Director, recruit, interview and select wellqualified programme staff
  • Ensure all staff members receive appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards by proper coaching and mentoring
  • Supervise programme staff by providing direction, input and feedback
  • Engage volunteers for appropriate programme activities using established volunteer management practices
Stakeholders Management

  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the programme and to solicit input to improve the programme
**Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in operational or direct services roles working with children, with at least 3 years' experience in managing a team.
  • Experience in the social service sector preferable
  • Degree/Masters holder
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of socialemotional learning process/frameworks
  • Able to engage and manage children well
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Team leadership and coaching ability
  • Driven with passion to lead and transform
  • Adaptive and Flexible
