    Job overview:

    Responsibilities as an Operational Technology / Automation Engineer:

    Design and implementation of the Manufacturing Operational Technology (OT) Systems and Equipment e.g., IIOT, Network Infrastructure, Cyber-Security, IIOT and Connectivity Platforms supporting the Automation Systems.

    Integration of Process Control Systems (PCS) for process and supporting utilities equipment including formulating relevant procedures for system operations for a new API manufacturing facility in Singapore.

    Main duty:


    • Technical subject matter expert on Manufacturing Operational Technology Systems and Equipment


    • Provide inputs, review and follow through the design deliverables of the relevant computerized control systems during the design phase of the new manufacturing in Singapore.


    • Provide support in the activities such as authoring and/or review of design, commissioning and qualification documents for the relevant OT / Automation systems including technical solutions and proposals.


    • Provide support in the design, testing, commissioning and validation of the relevant OT / Automation systems including interfaces with other subsystems.


    • Provide support in procurement by liaising with potential service providers or vendors to see technology fit and application.


    • Lead and coordinate FAT/SAT activities for the relevant OT / Automation systems.


    • Manage related system suppliers and construction units to ensure project quality and operational safety.


    • Ensure that supporting GMP relevant documentations (i.e. drawings, technical documents, operation records, SOPs, etc.) are generated and maintained current meeting the requirements of customer quality audits and HSA, FDA and EU audits.


    • Ensure that the computerized control / OT system complies with the company's GMP/EHS requirements and is well implemented to support important audit work such as QA or safety.


    • Provide support / inputs for the construction of automation control system for new projects and workshop renovation projects to meet automation needs.


    • Provide Engineering support for changes to computerized control / OT systems, assess quality and safety impacts, and implement required actions to reduce the impact of changes.


    • During project phase, the individual is expected to be actively involved and at times doing multiple roles to support the overall success of the greenfield project startup.


    • Provide trainings for associates on relevant automation systems.


    • Other work as arranged by the manager.

    Job requirements:


    • Bachelor degree or above in Industrial automation and other majors related majors, more than 5 years of relevant work experience in large pharmaceutical, petrol chemical or semiconductor cleanroom environment, and more than 8 years of relevant experience for junior college/ polytechnic.


    • Strong knowledge and hands on experience with ITOT Systems, Network Infrastructure, Windows Active Directory and Domain Controller, Cybersecurity Architecture, Cluster Administration tools, Backup and Restoration tools.


    • Knowledge on Automation Systems – either PLC-based systems, DCS-based systems, systems integration and automation concepts.


    • Experience in the integration of OT / Automaton Systems including software development, documentation, and commissioning / qualification.


    • Adept with network theory and be able to troubleshoot all industrial networking protocols which includes but not limited to OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, ProfiNet, Fieldbus, DeviceNet, etc.


    • Ideally, individual with greenfield startup experiences will be an advantage for this role.


    • Good problem-solving skills and high level of commitment, resilience and flexibility


    • Be proficient in operating Office software, and have the ability to review construction technical plans and equipment technical negotiation.
