GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Senior Case Managers are responsible for projects delegated to them by the Supervising Attorney.

This position exhibits a high degree of strategic thinking, independent judgment, analytical skills, discretion and initiative with respect to case and project management; demonstrates confidence and expertise, communicates to supervisors fully and in a timely manner the status of task completion and new developments; applies advanced skills of legal research skills, writing and analysis.

Generally manages the caseload and status expirations for smaller to large volume clients.

Additionally, Senior Case Managers may coordinate work, assign cases to Paralegals, and assist in the orientation and training within their designated offices.

Senior Case Managers work closely with the Supervising Attorney.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare correspondence.
  • Participate in case strategy meetings.
  • Directly interact with new clients to perform new case intake.
  • Perform a critical role in the development and delivery of client development activities, town hall meetings and seminars provided to clients.
  • With significant independent judgment and discretion, develop and propose procedures and systems to provide effective legal services to practice group management.
  • Enter and maintain data in immigration case management system.
  • Track and manage critical deadlines.
  • Organize and maintain immigration files.
  • Maintain hard copy files and documents as required to support all immigration activity on behalf of clients.
  • Work with attorneys and global immigration team to manage caseload and assign cases to Paralegals and Case Assistants in coordination with the Supervising Attorney.
  • Ensure that clients are kept apprised of the progress of their cases.
  • Respond to immigration inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Guide, train and lead Case Assistants, Paralegals, and Case Managers.
  • Lead immigration staff and coordinate workflow for assigned projects.
  • Attend continuing education programs/seminars and firm team/group meetings and events.
  • Attend firm team/group meetings and events.
  • Enter time into Intapp Time and adhere to submission deadlines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


This job has no formal supervisory responsibilities other than the oversight of the work performed by Paralegals, and Case Managers on assigned case work.

Occasionally, this position may assist the Supervising Attorney with staffing, interviewing, orientating and other supervisory responsibilities.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of nine years of global immigration experience with case management responsibilities at a global law firm.
