HSBC Digital Strategy team is responsible for setting the digital strategy, operating model and performance standards for digital and innovation at HSBC Singapore, and more broadly across HSBC's ASEAN franchise.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Director, Strategic Partnerships.


The Director, Strategic Partnerships will focus on creating and building value additive partnerships for HSBC Singapore with respect to digital and innovation and develop the holistic framework for digital partnership development for ASEAN.

The role holder will focus on partnerships that create new growth opportunities, drive revenue and enhance capabilities across the franchise.

This role reports into the Chief Digital Officer, ASEAN.


This is a high impact role that requires expertise in strategic thinking, leadership, strong relationship building and management (internal and external) as well as exceptional understanding of HSBC line of business, digital commerce and evolving business models & trends.

The role owner is expected to work in close collaboration with x LOB, functions, DBS and the wider HSBC organisation.


Key responsibilities include:

  • The role holder will lead the positioning of HSBC Singapore as a primary player in the digital and innovation space in alignment with Group strategy by building strong community outreach; This would not only be through capitalising on existing marketing opportunities but also creating new areas to proliferate HSBCs leadership role in the digital/innovation space
  • Playing an active role representing HSBC Singapore in the external market to improve HSBC's digital image as a leading bank for digital vis a vis competitors in the FIs and NBFI space
  • Lead, develop, own, and implement a partnership strategy that aligns with and supports HSBC Singapore's overall business vision with a focus on digital and technology; devise HSBC ASEAN's Digital partnership framework based on the HSBC Singapore model
  • Engage and build meaningful partnerships with the fintech/startup ecosystem, innovation hubs, VC, accelerators, incubators, core agencies (SFA, SBF etc) and regulators
  • Build a pipeline of fintech relationships and match funding opportunities (equity/debt) to fintechs
  • Develop and manage strategically important partnerships opportunities in ASEAN, both existing and new, and own executive level relationships
  • Communicate the partnership and digital strategy, priorities internally and externally to strengthen HSBC Singapores competitive positioning in ASEAN
  • Work with CDO ASEAN and Singapore EXCO to prioritize strategic objectives against partnerships, innovation and investment opportunities and subsequently deliver against these priorities in collaboration with relevant EXCO members
Requirements


Competencies, Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in managing internal and external partnerships and the ability to negotiate and navigate relationships with internal stakeholders and large external agencies
  • Extensive professional experience across various LOB and functions with knowledge and curiosity in partnerships and emerging technologies
  • Ability to influence cross
- functional teams and align verticals into enterprise wide outcomes

  • Analytical and conceptual thinker with ability to operate in a "blue sky" environment
  • Have a strong sense of commercial value for both clients and HSBC and can create value proposition that translate between both
  • Strategy and execution skills to prioritize areas of focus while also driving implementation in a large, global, and matrixed environment
  • Ability to lead cultural and behavioral change in a rapidly changing industry
  • Thrive under pressure work well with constant change and ambiguity
