Manager, Centre for Global Education and Opportunities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and grow Centre for Global Education and Opportunities (GEO) semester exchange and shortterm study programmes, working with students, partner universities, SMU schools and offices, and relevant government agencies.
- Develop and manage relations with partner universities through regular communications.
- Facilitate annual placement projection and negotiation exercise with partner universities.
- Provide necessary support and guidance to the students (outbound SMU students and inbound international students) throughout the programme.
- Conduct surveys, analyse findings and prepare reports on students' study abroad or study at SMU experiences, and learning outcomes.
- Manage and process payments to vendors and agencies in accurate and timeline manner.
- Work in teams to improve and enhance effectiveness and efficiency of operational/work processes.
- Plan and execute events such as SMU's Study Abroad Fair and other student outreach and programme publicity initiatives, as well as orientation activities for inbound/outbound students.
- Work closely with SMU's Safety & Emergency Preparedness Unit to ensure full compliance with study abroad safety protocols.
- Lead and manage various programme related projects and teams assembled to deliver on these projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Postgraduate qualifications or Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- 6 to 8 years industry experience with significant exposure to international education and crosscultural exchanges, working with diverse teams.
- Enjoy developing and running student programmes and working with students, especially students from various countries and cultures.
- Good interpersonal skills and customeroriented mindset.
- Able to manage multiple and competing tasks and deadlines, to deliver high quality work.
- A strategic and analytical thinker with strong systems thinking skills.
- A good communicator both written and verbal.
- Meticulous and be able to make sense of numbers as the job involves budgeting and billing.
