  • PSA has a multi-year pipeline of key civil infrastructure projects globally. This role relates to the implementation of BIM for PSA's international civil infrastructure development projects. The role will involve working closely with PSA's global project teams and civil engineering colleagues.

    You will be based in Singapore with short term travel to overseas projects and terminals as required, reporting to the SVP Civil Engineering as a key member of PSA's Port Process Excellence (PPE) Civil Engineering team.

    Responsibilities

    PSA has recently developed a groupwide Employer's Information Requirement (EIR) for BIM. This role involves the implementation of BIM across our major civil infrastructure projects worldwide. The role will involve a flexible, 'hands-on' approach, working closely alongside PSA's project teams, civil engineers and other stakeholders. The key functions broadly include the following:

  • Be a trusted specialist advisor and be seen as a 'go to' provider of BIM solutions. This will require strong influencing skills and demonstration of added value.
  • Lead the implementation of PSA's BIM requirements (including EIR and nomenclature) on infrastructure development projects through planning, design, construction, and maintenance stages.
  • Set detailed project BIM requirements, benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with project leads.
  • Oversee BIM model development by 3rd parties, review and compare outputs against EIR. Support the federation of BIM model outputs.
  • Provide outputs and data from BIM models to PSA operations and maintenance teams.
  • Curate and manage BIM object libraries.
  • Administer Common Data Environments (CDE).
  • Setup and oversee automated model checking tools.
  • Validate BIM progress reporting
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to project teams and senior management.
  • Report on outcomes, progress, key BIM issues and required actions.
  • Continue to update and improve PSA's BIM requirements and performance; incorporate feedback and advances in the BIM industry and international standards.
  • Develop and promote methodologies to use BIM to help optimise cost, programme, safety and sustainability goals through design, construction, operation and maintenance and future decommissioning. Champion the further development of BIM in PSA (eg 4D, 5D and 6D) where this brings added value and develop business cases for future investment.
  • Strengthen the capacity of PSA's global BIM community through training programmes and other initiatives. Train, support, and mentor colleagues on BIM use. Provide briefings to senior management.
  • Promote collaborative working between teams across geographical regions.
  • Coordinate with IT departments on BIM software products, including licensing, new version releases, legacy software, and customisations where appropriate.
  • Requirements

    Technical Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent in BIM
  • A degree (BSc / BEng) in a related discipline (eg civil engineering, architecture construction) would be an advantage.
  • Project, Engineering or Construction Management experience.
  • Experience in leading and managing the implementation of BIM for civils infrastructure and buildings projects (ports and marine experience would be an advantage).
  • Track record of facilitating organizational change within the design / construction industry.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of BIM related international standards and good international industry practice.
  • Typically, 15+ years of professional experience would be expected, albeit depending upon the type of experience.
  • Personal Profile

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in working and leading teams in international settings.
  • Good team player with strong communication and influencing skills. Able to work effectively and build effective working relationships with international teams and senior management.
  • Willingness and aptitude to travel and work overseas on short duration visits.
  • Able to actively identify project BIM requirements and propose effective solutions.
  • Self starter, energetic, focussed. Able to work with minimal direction, to deal with multiple projects and to prioritise key tasks.
