Chess at Three is the only company in the world that teaches children as young as 3 years old how to play chess, completely through fun silly stories.


Founded in New York, Chess at Three is currently in a state of rapid growth and we have over 200 teachers/tutors teaching over 1,000 children a week in: New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and more.

We are thrilled to be bringing our original, effective and fun curriculum to Singapore Our first centre will be opening in United Square in July 2023.

We are looking for fun and creative people who have experience working with children. We value fun way more than we do chess skills.

About The Opportunity:


Chess at Three is looking to hire storytellers/teachers/tutors to teach chess primarily at our United Square club (opening in July 2023) and in schools, to children aged from 3 to 10, in small groups of about 5 to 8.

Familiarity/ interest with the game of chess is helpful, but you do not need to be a chess player right now.

We have a unique pedagogy that will enable you to teach children as young as 3 to play chess Initially, we will pair you up with an experienced tutor from New York as a shadow tutor, as well as provide you with comprehensive training.


Position Requirements:

  • Fun, animated, and great with children.
  • Heart for hospitality and serving children.
  • Driven personality/entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Extremely organized and responsible.
  • Not afraid to ask for referrals or seek new lesson opportunities (schools, families, local communities, etc).
  • Interest in the game of chess, but no prior knowledge required
  • Experience as a performing artist, teacher, or early childhood professional is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Thorough background check will be required at the time of hire.
  • Tutors are expected to be responsive and accountable to the families and schools of our students.

Salary guideline:

  • Fulltime: $3,000$4,500 per month
  • Hourly: $25 $30 for training and $50 $60 for tutoring

Schedule:

  • Weekdays after school
  • Choose your own hours
  • Weekend availability is required
