    Roles & Responsibilities

    Role Summary

    As a Hardware Engineer, you will join our expanding team in designing and developing hardware tools (smart card readers, chip board, analog signal measurement, etc...) for testing secure universal integrated circuit card (UICC) for the usage of mobile and IoT devices.

    Main Responsibilities

    • This role is actively involved in the hardware development process, including requirements definition, architectural design, implementation and verification.
    • Develops functional diagrams and design the schematic and the layout for hardware applications.
    • Performs necessary calculations and analysis for electronic circuit designs.
    • Selects and evaluate electronic components and work directly with component suppliers on engineering level.
    • Hardware design, development and testing of high speed digital electronic circuits including microcontrollers, FPGA and embedded firmware.
    • Conducts and support failure analysis at circuit and component level and prepare comprehensive reports.
    • Maintain and evolve the in-house reader, TRIOPs based on the requirements collected and issue reported from the development team.
    • Analyzes and enhances efficiency, stability and scalability of hardware system resources.
    • Designed, developed and implemented firmware to support embedded system product concepts.
    • Provides hardware training and knowledge sharing to the development team.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Computer Science or similar technical field
    • At least 5 years relevant industry experience in the following areas: Schematic design & Layout design.
    • Working previous hands-on experience with use of Lab equipment/ tools (oscilloscope, measuring devices, hand soldering.
    • Proficient with schematic capture and layout design tools, preferably KiCad.
    • Demonstrated circuit-level analysis and troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience at least 2 years of experience with embedded systems design, including embedded microcontrollers, FPGAs and development board.
    • Familiar with communication I/O protocol like UART RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, I2C, I3C, SPI, SWP, ISO 7816.
    • Familiar with common software and scripting languages used in FPGA development like Verilog, as well as C/C++, python, tcl.
    • Excellent interpersonal and team skills yet able to work independently - Highly motivated, excellent team spirit, obsessed with providing quality deliverables and is customer oriented.
    • Excellent Team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaboration.
    • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity leveraging problem solving skills and a willingness to learn with only high-level direction.
    • Prior experience communicating pertinent and technical information to customers and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
    • Experience with embedded systems. Understands firmware and its components.
