    Roles & Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Senior Veterinary Services Manager, the Associate Veterinarian is responsible for all veterinary and facility-related matters. The activities include running of animal housing and breeding facilities, performing routine veterinary procedures and daily treatment of animals as required, overseeing animal surgery and research procedures and supervising the work of Veterinary staff. He or she is also required to monitor clinical cases daily and animal husbandry practices, as well as developing and implementing policies and initiatives for animal husbandry and facilities to ensure full compliance to National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR) Guidelines and Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC) requirements.

    Job requirements:

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Bachelor in Veterinary Science with minimum 3 years' experience as a practicing veterinarian in any of the facilities i.e. animal hospital, companion animal clinic or laboratory animal research facility
    • Previous experience in biomedical and/or translational research is an advantage but not necessary
    • Able to perform basic animal imaging (X-Ray, Ultrasound), operation of Diagnostic machines (Blood Gas and Biochemistry analyzer) and other standard veterinary diagnostic procedures
    • Able to handle small and large animal work and perform shift duties including weekends as needed by the operation
    • Computer literate and excellent project management skills
    • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to manage cross-functional and institutional relationships are essential
    • Ability to interact effectively with scientist, researchers, academicians, administrators and external clients
    • Well-honed skills in mentoring to develop and lead subordinate staff
    • Excellent command of spoken and written English
    • Willing to commit for at least 3 years of full time contract work and perform their role as Associate Veterinarian
