    Seagate Research Group conducts research to transform Seagate's considerable technical expertise, innovation, and manufacturing excellence to develop innovative technologies for the rapidly growing datasphere. Data Storage and Memory Devices research explore novel data storage technology at device and systems level and create proof-of-concept (POC) for the fast-growing datasphere and further exploring device innovations at micro/nano scale that leverage Seagate core competencies.

    About the role - you will:

    This is a position for an engineering professional responsible for applying scientific and engineering principles to design, develop, and optimize lab on a chip platform. This position involves working with a multidisciplinary global team of researchers to create solutions for developing novel solutions in lab on a chip problem. The Engineer must be able to develop and implement technical solutions that meet project requirements and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

    About you:

  • Be prepared to engage in interdisciplinary research and to explore new research directions.
  • Design and develop lab on a chip products and processes.
  • Work with scientists and other engineers to develop and optimize lab on a chip products and processes.
  • Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Write technical reports, project plans as required.
  • Contribute to growing Intellectual Property.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and milestones.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies and use this knowledge to innovate and improve products and processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Your experience includes:

  • Degree, Master's or a PhD in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, material science or a related field.
  • Strong foundations in engineering principles, biological systems, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with biotechnology industry regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics, proficiency in using CAD and other software tools commonly used in biotechnology engineering will be an added advantage.
