Job Description

Optics play a crucial role at KLA, forming the foundation of our tools that detect defects on wafers and reticles imperceptible to the naked eye. This involves utilizing various light sources and nanophotonics to capture images.

As an optical engineer at KLA, your role involves developing ultra-precise optical systems and components for complex systems, conducting crucial optical simulations, modeling and analysis, and devising innovative solutions to manufacturing challenges.


Responsibilities

  • Facilitate optical specifications, lens design, and supplier integration for new optics-driven products in the Optics Development Engineering division.
  • Utilize tools like Code V or Zemax to design high-precision imaging lenses, relays, beamsplitters, and zoom lenses, ensuring minimal aberrations and conducting comprehensive simulations for optimal performance.
  • Build intricate system models incorporating critical parameters for accurate raytracing simulations, including performance metrics like Strehl/WFE, PSF characteristics, focal depth of field, and polarization effects.
  • Education or experience in designing, modeling, and analyzing optical systems, optical manufacturing processes, advanced optical software, statistical lens tolerancing, ghost and stray light analysis, design for manufacturing, precision optomechanical assemblies, and data analysis using tools like Matlab.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree with 0 years of related work experience; Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience.
