    Team Lead, Asia Long Steel & Scrap

    The Role
    The Team Lead, Asia Long Steel & Scrap will lead a team responsible for executing on Platts Asia steel pricing and news priorities on a day-to-day basis. The role will lead external engagement aimed at raising Platts profile, promote understanding of our methodology and provide thought leadership in those markets. The team lead will drive excellence in pricing and lead the team toward producing high quality content, including for delivery at conferences and to the media, collaborating with colleagues within and outside of the team.

    The candidate will work in an organization with a people-oriented culture and that has a global reach in terms of its coverage and established price assessment methodology. The Steel & Scrap team, as part of the Metals Pricing team, will be exposed and contribute to the team's broader understanding of a range of markets like steel, its other raw materials and non-ferrous and battery metals.

    As team lead, the successful candidate will receive guidance from the regional head of Metals pricing in making the transition from an individual contributor to a people leader. The candidate will undergo training aimed at helping new people leaders transition into their roles, and career coaching that would allow them to discover their own values and strengths.

    What we're looking for
    • Proven ability to produce high quality content in a market reporting or analysis context, including by way of price assessments, market commentaries and news, multimedia content and presentations
    • Experience managing a small team, or demonstrated potential to do so
    • Ability to foster a team culture of high performance
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented, global, multicultural environment
    • Ability to acquire skills needed to deliver high quality presentations, including to an external audience, explaining price assessment methodology and providing market updates
    • Desire to take ownership of a market in informational and source relationship terms
    • Adept at prioritizing and completing multiple tasks, adhering to deadlines
    • A background in metals or other commodity markets would be advantageous
    • Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in another Asian language a plus
