    Description
    Roles & Responsibilities

    The laboratory offers comprehensive Cytogenetic services including molecular Cytogenetics. Work experience in a Cytogenetics Laboratory/Molecular Laboratory is an advantage.

    The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist is required to perform and interpret diagnostic procedures. He/She is willing to work independently as well as in a team to provide quality laboratory services for our patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare specimens, including tissue samples, blood samples, and cell cultures, for molecular cytogenetic analysis.
    • Perform DNA extraction, purification, and quantification for downstream molecular assays.
    • Maintains stringent pre and post PCR containment procedures.
    • Performs chromosomal microarray (CMA) adhering to quality control guidelines.
    • Performs Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) adhering to quality control standards.
    • Perform tissue culture of different specimen type including culture initiation, maintenance, and harvest.
    • Chromosome preparation and staining for microscopic analysis.
    • Chromosomal analysis meeting or exceeding established productivity and quality control standards.
    • Performs quality control checks to ensure precision and accuracy of tests.
    • Perform troubleshooting and risk management to process.
    • Prepares reagents and controls using derived procedures.
    • Monitors and maintain laboratory supplies.
    • Performs routine and preventive maintenance of equipment.
    • Impart skills and knowledge to colleagues and others.
    • Works safely and following laboratory safety, Policy, and Procedure requirements at all times.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Able and willingness to work on weekends including public holidays.

    • At least a Degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Biomedical Science or equivalent
    • Relevant experience in Molecular Cytogenetics for Senior position
