    Overview

    Transaction Services cover the management and provision of trade and cash solutions to ING's corporate clients. Trade Finance Services (TFS) and Working Capital Solutions (WCS) are the twin pillars of trade solutions at ING. TFS originates, structures and manages traditional trade products such as letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees and invoice financing, etc. WCS originates, structures and manages (complex) working capital financing solutions (receivables and payables based) typically on a limited or non-recourse basis. These include Receivables Finance and Supplier Finance solutions. We work through our dedicated Trade teams based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, etc. supported by our central teams based in Amsterdam and Brussels

    Duties and responsibilities

    Assist the WCS team in various activities throughout the lifecycle of a new transaction from opportunity inception to execution of first drawdown of a program. The candidate would be expected to:

    • Conduct financial analysis of client's financial statements, leading to an internal credit rating used by the bank to determine credit appetite and pricing of programs;
    • Analyze receivables portfolios and cash conversion cycles of clients to determine their working capital requirements and identify opportunities;
    • Assist the deal principal in structuring and formulation of WCS solutions to meet the client's needs;
    • Create commercial presentations aimed at explaining the proposed solution to clients;
    • Assist in drafting of commercial green light requests and credit proposals for the approval of new programs; and
    • Support the deal principal in drafting of the legal documentation – receivables purchase agreements, risk participation agreements, payment service agreements, etc.

    Support the WCS team in transactions management of existing programs. The candidate would be expected to:

    • Manage the Asia portfolio through the use of excel and/ or in-house applications to facilitate the various operational flows, including but not limited to checking eligibility of drawdowns, monitoring of outstanding and reconciliation of settlements;
    • Work with Trade Finance Sales colleagues in other locations to process and resolve operational issues, if any;
    • Communicate and assist clients' queries to ensure various operational requirements are met;
    • Maintain and create operating and monitoring procedure manuals for end to end flow of existing and new programs;
    • Monitor and report covenants of existing programs; and
    • Liaise with Treasury and back office teams to ensure timely processing of transactions.

    Support the WCS team in annual reviews of existing programs. The candidate would be expected to:

    • Draft renewal proposals or credit modifications. This will include tasks such as updating internal ratings/financials of the relavant parties; and
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain advice/approvals necessary for the renewal/modification of the programs.
    • Assist in adhoc projects as and when required.

    • Able to work autonomously and on several projects/deals simultaneously
    • A good communicator and team player
    • Proficient in usage of MS Excel and Powerpoint; Salesforce experience is a plus
    • Prior experience in credit and/or financial analysis and financial accounting

    (Qualifications and experience)

    • 1-2 years prior experience in a trade finance role, ideally in the area of working capital solutions
    • An understanding of credit risk, trade finance solutions and experience in deal execution
    • Excellent oral and written skills in English. Mandarin or Korean (business level) language abilities are a plus in support of the client base in Taiwan, China and Korea
    • An academic degree in economics, management, law or equivalent
