    Description

    Objectives

    • Appointed person responsible for Trade Control topics at the local legal entity level
    • Appointed person responsible for Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) topics relating to operational activities at corporate office and application lab.
    • Team member of the Malaysia-Singapore EHS country team supporting Business Units on EHSS matters.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure all relevant licensing requirements for the legal entity's trading and business activities are tracked and maintained in a timely manner.
    • Ensure compliance of corporate and local Trade Control requirements to enable operations at local legal entity, also includes providing expert guidance to Hub.
    • Ensure compliance of corporate EHSS and local legislative requirements, through effective implementation and management of policies, standards, and programmes to enable operations at corporate office and application lab in a responsible and safe manner.
    • Monitor development of Trade Control and EHSS trends that can potentially impact the Company's business activities and operations, and use knowledge and experience acting as responsible person on the interpretation and deployment of relevant programmes or processes.
    • Consult and work in partnership with relevant stakeholders for consistent Trade Control and EHSS advocacy and/or implementation in alignment with business strategies and operations.
    • Adapt fast to strategize and steer Trade Control and EHSS programmes to meet changing business environments under varied circumstances, directions and deadlines.
    • Provide practical and pragmatic guidance and advisory to support stakeholders in carrying out their duties in a compliant and safe manner.
    • Focal point and champion for related EHSS activities
    • Liaise and build strategic partnership with external stakeholders on Trade Control and EHSS matters, which also include but not limited to reporting, site visits or inspections.
    • Represent and contribute to discussion groups in external industry associations.
    • Work in a team to provide support to Business Units with operational activities in Singapore when required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Science, Engineering, Production, Chemical or equivalent.
    • At least 8 years working experience in production, engineering or EHS area.
    • Leadership experience would be an advantage.
    • Experienced with Singapore regulations relating to chemical operations and trading activities.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
    • Familiar with local legislation system and legal requirements in EHS.
    • Must have good understanding of scope and function of EHS in different business units.
    • Comfortable working within matrix organization
    • Good understanding of WSH, MOM, NEA requirements, SPF, SCDF and safety legislation within Singapore.
