    Your new role

    As our new Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in undertaking structural design, producing and coordinating the production of project deliverables including reports, calculations, tender submissions, technical documentations, sketches, presentations, drawings and specifications.

    You will be involved in a diverse range of projects such as low and high-rise modular buildings, including off-site construction, volumetric and PPVC systems.

    Reporting directly to our Senior Associate, MMC Lead in our multidisciplinary Buildings Department, you will apply the principles of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) to promote the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), modular construction and prefabrication.

    You will be responsible for undertaking work from the initial design concept through to detailed design, supervision, and quality assurance of structures. As a part of a global team, you can expect to be working on projects in Singapore as well as in the wider Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, in sectors such as commercial, hospitality and residential.

    Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Prepare design of structures, including but not limited to the design of modular buildings, prefabrication and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA);
  • Carry out the structural analysis and design including Finite Element analysis, design and preparation of detailed design reports, calculations, sketches and drawings.
  • Coordinate with BIM modelers and technicians for the preparation of BIM models and drawings aligned with the client's requirements and design intent.
  • Prepare project deliverables and submissions to authorities.
  • Review drawings, calculations, reports and other project deliverables.
  • Design management and coordination with other design disciplines.
  • Participate in bids and tenders.
  • Perform other relevant tasks that may be assigned by the management.

    You will become part of our Building Department based in the Ramboll Head Office for the APAC hub, in Singapore.

    We have extensive global experience in project delivery from the initial concept phase to final completion and handover, and we are involved in both Singapore and international projects.

These include:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 3 to 5+ years' experience in structural design, preferably in consultancy firms.
  • Working experience and/or knowledge and interest in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), modular design, PPVC, precast, steelworks and MET.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and in writing.
  • Proficiency with common structural design software e.g. ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE.
  • Knowledge or interest of parametric software for structural optimisation (e.g. Rhino, Grasshopper) is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • International mindset and an ability to drive collaboration across construction disciplines, both within Ramboll and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop practical solutions.
