    Description
    Roles & Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    · Supporting existing and new MDF/IDF rooms.

    · Day-to-day operations of MDF/IDF rooms and assume a critical role in maintaining the overall up- time, performance, and capacity.

    · Site management, Moves/Adds/Changes of systems within the site.

    · Rack and install a large inventory of servers, storage, networking gear, data center gear and serial consoles in our production environment.

    · Perform initial configuration and provision for deployment: servers, network gear and various infrastructure related equipment (Console/ILO) configurations for sys-admins

    · Perform stringent site management and planning for production deployments and growth.

    · Troubleshoot and remedy hardware issues, and provide a detailed report to management/administrators

    · Manage local vendors for procurement/installations/remediation

    · Manage RMA/EOL/Disposal processes with various sources

    · Maintain an up-to-date inventory list of all hardware equipment for locations

    · Implement and follow best-practice methodology for maintaining a MDF/IDF environment for power/cooling/cabling

    · Track MDF/IDF related issues and tasks via our ticketing system

    · Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation

    · Domestic travel as needed.

    Skills / Experience

    Minimum 1 year experience working in computer rooms including:

    • Data centre best practices including cabling, power balancing, cooling, inventory tracking, and more
    • Experience in performing hardware troubleshooting in a Small to Medium scale server/storage/networking environment
    • Hands-on and certified professional experienced with Windows, Unix and IP networking
    • Basic system administration skills for servers, storage, and networking devices
    • Ability to lift 20KG safely and reliably on a regular basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1-3 years' experience working in small to medium computer rooms including:

    • Experience working in supporting Semi-conductor industries IT operations.
    • Data center best practices including cabling, power balancing, cooling, inventory tracking, and more
    • Experience in performing hardware troubleshooting server/storage/networking environment
    • Over 1-3 years Hands-on and certified professional experienced with Windows, UNIX/LINUX and IP networking
    • Over 1 year proven system administration skills for servers, storage, and networking devices including:
    • Proven experience using data center management tools
    • Proven track record for working alone, or remotely with minimal supervision
    • Vendor management experience.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organization skills
    • Take pride in keeping a clean and tidy work environment within the MDF/IDF rooms.
    • Self-motivated and able to work alone efficiently and without close supervision
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong interpersonal skills

    Education Requirements:

    • BA/BS Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) IT Certifications such as A+, Server+, Network+, ITIL or similar a plus CCNA, or equivalent Electrical/Mechanical experience or certification.
