Roles & Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Carry out post trade contract activities and day-to-day execution of bulk physical contracts. This involves planning shipments to payment collection.
Acknowledge nomination to buyer and sending it on to shipper ensuring shipper acceptance of nomination.

Coordinate with Trade Finance Team on all new bulk shipments where a purchase of warehoused goods is funded by banks as TF Team needs to arrange releases.

Communicate with Thailand Operations Team for bulk shipments with Thai origin
Ensure all information like Demurrage/ Despatch, documentary instruction or LCs (if required) are in place before loading.
Issue documentary instructions to shipper for timely preparation of shipping documents and follow up on draft documents for checking.
Create shipment number using in-house system
Ensure all drafts are checked and confirmed by buyer and passing on to shipper. Follow up on scanned signed documents and original documents.
Instructing / Appointing cargo surveyors at loading and discharging port(s).
Create sale invoice and upload all shipping documents in Suite.
Ensure payments from buyers are made in time before shipments arrives at destination.
Manage payment of suppliers, freight invoices and any other costs.
Prepare and maintain shipment files with in-house system and any hard copies if required.
Arrange local or overseas courier to send out original documents.
Update and extract records of shipment plans and supplier call forward plans via excel or system database
Join weekly execution calls with UK and Thailand team.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree/ Diploma
Around 2-3 years of experience in international import/ export trade and shipping logistics
Experience in bulk shipment experience


Fresh graduates with internships in shipping/cargo operations and strong interest in the agriculture trading sector can be considered
Experience in RSA / SAOL / Sugar No. 11 rules and regulation and Incoterms would be helpful.
Familiar with negotiating documents basis CAD, Bank Documentary Collection, and Documentary Letters of Credit.
Experience in Letter of Credits negotiation and UCP, ISBP rules would be helpful.
Team player with strong work ethics and excellent communication & organizational skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
