- Overall responsible for the quality and timing of the engineering/technical deliverables in assigned Project
- Responsible for managing the design and engineering aspect of the project on behalf of the Company with the objective of successfully and safely delivering an FPSO (or a major modification to an FPSO) within an agreed budget and schedule, to client's and BWO's Operations specifications with high uptime, low maintenance and reliable long term operational performance
- Develop a robust design for the FPSO, complying with contract requirements, specifications, safety standards, regulatory requirements and Company procedures, using media such as drawings /documents / specifications, to hand over to the project successors (Procurement / Construction / Commissioning) within the required time frame, and to support the successors to verify the implementation of design intents
- Lead the entire project engineering team, Company staff as well as third parties (subcontractors), including planning, resourcing, and managing the engineering organisation throughout the project, ensuring clarity and alignment for all team members
- Act as a mentor and resource for new employees, less experienced colleagues and consultants
- Responsible for Engineering Management, including definition and allocation to the team with clear accountability set up, implementation of review / approval process and schedule / priority management of deliverables, covering all FPSO design / engineering activities including the subcontractors (engineering or EPC) and equipment vendors
- Ensure extensive interface with Procurement, Construction and Commissioning processes
- Responsible for the relevant parties within the client, management, partners, vendors, yards and sub-contractors, including clarifying and managing expectations in multiple directions for optimal project delivery
- Ensure highest level of HSE performance within design / engineering aspects of the project, including the full range of HSE activities such as standard setting, leading by example, communicating, monitoring, putting in place positive and negative consequences depending on events/outcome and management of a safety case
- Support Project Manager with activities as required with project administration, reporting, project cost and schedule control, invoicing, risk management, etc.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
- Long relevant experience may replace formal education
- Ideally 15 years of experience within the offshore industry, including previous experience as (deputy or area) engineering manager for at least one substantial and successful (safe, on budget & schedule, high uptime) offshore project either for an oil & gas operator, an FPSO contractor or an offshore EPC contractor
- Any previous FPSO experience will be greatly valued
- International and multi-cultural experience will be preferred

- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- The position may require temporary assignments at project premises or on-board units
